Representative called saying that he obtained my information from the U.S Department of Education. He said they work with the DOE to help students who may have defaulted on their loans or just would like their student loans forgiven. He said he would set up payment plans from January 29,2016- March 29, 2016. each payment in the amount of 183.00. After the last payment was made the loan would be forgiven. He asked for my social security number. Although I was skeptical, I gave it to him after he verified additional information (amount of student loan debt, which colleges and what years the loans were created). He said that my loans would be forgiven and that my federal taxes would not be garnished if i enrolled in the program. I called the actual Department of Education and she said that the information was indeed false and there are many scams that are promising the same results. I tried to contact the office of the KPA Group but of course, no one answered the phone.
