Rakuten has an online ebook store. I needed a particular book in an Epub format. As you can see from the screenshot below, the company advertised the book in Epub 2 format. I purchased the book for $10. However, when I went to "my library" the download button only spits out an .acsm file which is unusable. This is not what was advertised. I talked to customer service for an hour and they finally concluded I had to either use their app or their ereader device to access the book. This is not what was advertised. They advertised an Epub file, but they won't deliver one. It is a scam to try to get you to buy more of their products so that you can access the products you have already purchased. After calling them out for this fraudulent behavior they agreed to issue a refund to me. Behavior like this is so common nowadays and I am getting so tired of it.
