Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I started calling the church where the check was coming from, slowly realizing just how bogus the whole thing had been. Why would they send me so much money and what kind of church was this with $6K just lying around for translations regarding management conflict?!

I think we are going to have a little delay with the Phase 2. I just received a message from the Management that the Phase 2 should be withheld and postponed till 1st week of Oct , 2019 as we need a **video and audio presentation done**. The Phase 1 would be used for the first part of the seminar coming up in July, 2019 and the Phase 2 is for the second part of the seminar coming up in Oct. For this reason, we would only work on the phase 1 for now and get it ready before the due date. Please I want you to take all your full payments for the phase 1 ($2,333.00), I'm giving you $200 more for your stress and your extra time for the work. And for the remaining money for the Phase 2, I want you to make a cashier check deposit to the account of one of the sponsor and get back to me immediately with the full confirmation of the deposit with a deposit slip. Below is the full information on this transaction....

When I responded saying that this appeared to be a scam and I would have to verify all the sources, they got hostile:
Don't ever tell me not to contact you anymore when we have our money with you. We will never desist until this is cleared.We will be glad to stop the payment or give us full refund. You are not professional going by the way you message and conclude this. Please call the church and this will be confirmed.

Their bank "TRUSTCO" said the check appeared to have a hold on it. So I have not received these funds, even though it appears to be cleared in my account.
The church seems to exist but no one is picking up.
I wrote to them and told them I would not be working with them again. They have not contacted me but they have my home address so a litle scary.
