I found the website by searching B & B's Cape May. There are reviews for this place on trip advisor and google reviews dating back a few years so it seems very legit and might have been at one point. On the website it has you fill out a quick form (basic information) to inquire about a reservation. I received a confirmation email and a day later received an email from "supposedly" the owner saying that the room was available and asking if I would like to book it. The price "she" gave was higher (by about $40/night) than what was listed on the website so I took a screenshot and sent an email back to show the price listed. "She" agreed to book it for the original price and stated it can be paid through Venmo, Zelle or cashapp and that they are unable to confirm credit card payments right now. It seemed odd, but I figured if it's just the deposit then maybe that would be fine. I emailed back saying how much the deposit will be. the response I received was that it was to be paid in full and to make the payment to a Derrick Morgan (not a name listed anywhere on the website as owner or such). This really threw up red flags to me. I emailed back with another screenshot showing a section that says "a credit card number is required to reserve the room and %50 percent is preferred upon booking" (not that fully payment is required) and also asked why I would be paying someone named Derrick Morgan? No response yet. Clearly I am not sending any money.
