When selling a car on Craigslist, received a text asking about the car, then asking for a VIN history search from http://king.myvinsearch.me. The cost is $12.95, and appears to be a legitimate service. It then asks you to send results to a potentially bogus email account (random mix of letters and numbers in the address) No response is heard after that, I believe it is just a way of the vin search company of making money, by using a robot like texting service to make you initiate the purchase.

Always check that you're talking to a human when getting a text response!
