I found a 2003 Honda Accord LX, white in color, for sale on a Facebook for sale group. I inquired about the vehicle thinking it was a local vehicle. I was told that they couldn't speak at the moment but to provide my email address and they would correspond with me that way. I received an email from a Kimberly Richardson stating that she was selling the vehicle because she no longer needed it and she was going through a divorce. She also stated that she lived in Nebraska and the vehicle would be sold through eBay Motors. She asked me to provide my name, address, and phone number and she would notify them that I was the buyer of the car. She told me the car would be shipped to me free of charge and if within 5 days of receiving the car I did not like it, I could return the car at her expense. I received the email from eBay Motors and also a phone call that I missed taking. I read over the invoice and realized that they were wanting payment to be made by purchasing eBay gift cards. Knowing for sure at that moment that it was a scam, I checked with ScamPulse.com and saw the other similar complaints. I also did a reverse phone lookup and it was not found. The phone number was 408-641-4048 and only came up on caller ID as San Jose, CA. Another thing that caused me to not be sure about the transaction was the fact that the car's photos contained palm trees. The woman said she was in Nebraska.
