I am moving house this weekend and put my two barstools up for sale on Facebook marketplace as I do not need them at the new place. A buyer showed interest and asked for my Venmo, saying he would be on his way to pick up the items. I then received an amount ten times the price, the scammer said “his brother” initiated the transaction and made the mistake. He put pressure on me to return the funds. I will be in contact with local law enforcement first thing in the morning. The buyer also never showed up to pick up the items.
