Here is the short version of the story. I hope this reaches as much people to hire a professional and to avoid scammers.

After removing the baseboards and carpet from my condo I got in touch with Kerry. He quoted me a good price to have laminate flooring installed within a day and his friend to install the baseboards later in the day after he was complete. He installed the laminate flooring and left a mess. His contact for baseboard installation came in, failed to remove the leftover baseboard by the tiles (they are behind a cement wall, took $50 and left the remaining amount. Kerry said he took it to replace his blades he broke trying to remove the baseboard. The floor install was okay but it needed to be cleaned up. He said he could come later in the week and do the baseboard himself but he needed more money. I made the mistake and gave him the money upfront and when I came back, the place was a mess, the baseboards were installed so poorly and some of the flooring was damaged. It looked like he was in a rush and whatever cutting tool he used was dull and cheap. He said he would come back and it's only 10 minutes left of work, well if it was then why didn't you finish? A contractor recently looked over his work and the floors were not installed properly either. There are gaps and the cuts where the openings/doorways are too short - transition piece would not hide it after the seasons change. He has ignored my calls, texts, lied and I am not the only person. There are many many others he has done this to. I do not want this to happen to anyone else! Please stay away from Kerry Freedman contracting/contractor/Laminate Canada.

Kerry Freedman claims himself as a flooring installation professional with over 20 years of experience. We hired him to install laminate flooring for our apartment. On the second day, he said he forgot some materials and could not finish all the work. He asked us to pay him the full amount of money and said he would return in a few days to finish the incomplete work. He did not return on the day he promised after receiving the cash without proving any receipts. Since that day, he has been avoiding answering phone calls or messages.

In addition to the incomplete work, we later found that he had done extremely poor quality flooring that could result in a replacement of the damaged flooring planks, doors, and baseboards.

We reported to the police and sent him a letter to inform him that we are filing a complaint with the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. He called us the following day and bullied us saying "why don't you call FBI", "sue me, I will tell you the procedure", and etc, which is really unbelievable.

Please avoid using this man, to save your money and time. Don't be fooled by his innocent look if you see him on Facebook.
