Received a call from a lady who said that she was calling from Kenwood & Associates to collect on a debt from 8 years ago. She claimed the debt was with Best Buy then that changed to HSBC (the bank in the UK) but said that the debt was for an appliance for the house that had been purchased from HSBC. She said payments had started and then stopped with money owing. The remainder of the balance was $1400 but she would drop $400 from that if a payment arrangement for 2x$500 was set up which MUST be paid by debit card. She said the charges would show up as "Brookstone United Capital". Gave the bank card details and then cancelled the card the next day. No charges taken so far.
