I was looking at residential rental houses on Craig's List, and came across one that was in my budget. I messaged through the ad to ask to see the house. After 12 days, I received an email asking when I plan on moving in so we can get start a lease. I promptly responded with "I want to see the property before I make any decisions". Shortly after that, I received this response:

Hello,

Thank you for your email. I am so sorry for my late reply, I must confess this its my first time of renting my house. However, Due to the situation of my sick mother i was transfer to (Kentucky).. Here is the address you can drive by: Pennsylvania me and my family are currently located in (Kentucky) where my mother is responding to treatment in one of the hospital and due to the inability to get a good Realtor management to help us with the property of me and my family had to leave with the keys and document of the house. If you will be the right tenant to our house, we will get the keys and documents of he house sent to you via courier services as soon as all terms are settled. I will be renting out the house for $850 (Including Utilities) water,gas,electricity and garbage and a security deposit of $850 and I need to inform you as well that money is not the major reason why I am renting it out but i want someone who can take good care of it as if he/she owns it,let me know as soon as possible if you can take good care of it, so that we can discuss the rent further..

3 Bedroom,2 Bathroom

The rent is $850 and $850 Security Deposit

Pets Allowed: Cats , Dogs (Optional with pet fee ($50) included)

It doesn't make sense to me that these people that are scamming people actually do when it is so obvious to me that they are not legitimate.
