This individual is targeting people seeking homes for rent and marketing them on Craigslist. These are actually homes for sale, and he is pulling the information and the pictures from internet sites selling homes. I am a real estate agent with a listing that has been targeted. I have received four phone calls from different individuals stating the above referenced person, who is contacted via email (no phone or address) by the "renter", states that he is currently out of town, but can send them the keys if they "Cash App" the first months rent ($600) and the deposit ($600). One of the individuals I spoke with sent him the money. The others drove by the house, saw my "for sale" sign, and called me first to verify.

I have reported this to Craigslist. It has since been removed. However, the ad ran for 5 days and could have reached hundreds of people searching for home rentals. Additionally, I checked Craigslist for other homes being marketed as a rental but were actually for sale by a real estate agent. Upon further investigation, I found several other possible scams in the homes for rent section of Craigslist.
