I was looking to buy a keeshond puppy, and absolutely fell in love with one that I saw on keeshondplanet.com. Her name was Kila, and so, I contacted the site owner about her. At first, the seller was very responsive to my questions, sent me pictures, and information about the dog. When time came to pay, we agreed on a little more than half down, with the rest to be paid upon her arrival. The seller, Brianna Pruitt, stated that she had experienced a hack on her paypal earlier in the year, and that she couldn't use it (should have ended everything here, but I really wanted the dog). We used Zelle to pay, and communication became almost non-existent after that. I texted several times, asking whether I had to go to the airport and pick her up or whether she would come to my door. Her significant other answered, but I wanted to hear from the person I'd been dealing with, as she was the one who I had established a rapport with. He did tell me that she would be arriving Monday morning, Aug 16, 2021, at my door.
Then the day of shipping came, and this is where everything fell apart. Seller contacted me asking if I'd gotten any info, I said no, but checked my email. There was something from a "MajestyCargoShipping.com," claiming to be "Swift Transit Courier Service," with another webaddress of www.swift-transit.online when you hover over the majestycargoshipping.com. It claims to have an International scan (but coming from WA to MI, it shouldn't). When I went to MajestyCargoShipping's website, I couldn't track the shipment. Seller contacted me with "Oh, it's an S, not a 5," but it's obviously a 5 on the tracking number. Also, the city on the airport is spelled incorrectly, something like Spoakne, rather than Spokane.
Through this, I found out about petscams.com, and read about what to do, and what to expect. I didn't realize these things were so prevalent, and I decided that if anything else went wrong, I would be contacting you and any other agency I could in order to stop these people from doing this to anyone else.
Contacted the seller back, letting her know that if this is a scam, just tell me. After that I received an email from a "FairFirst Pet Insurance," which appears to be a Sri Lankan company, stating that I needed to purchase Refundable Pet Insurance from them, and that they would reimburse me. If I did not purchase this insurance, I would be charged with all kinds of crimes. I responded that I knew they were a scam, and that I would be reporting them to the BBB, the FBI, and whatever other agencies I could to get them shut down.
Seller contacted me, saying she would pay for the crate (which she should have already), but that I would have to pay for the insurance, because "it's your dog." However, I asked her for the total amount to ship the dog, and this was never once mentioned to me. I told her that I was reporting her to the ScamPulse.com as well, and she said that I can report myself to animal control. My local Sherriff's Office says there is no dog. I know I'm out the money, I just want to stop this heartache for anyone else.
