On Apr 7 2023 I was looking for Air Canada's phone number to buy tickets and I called the Air Canada's number that I found on internet. Until now I still cannot understand why that number and that Air Canada popped up in the first place and I thought it was real Air Canada. The agent who answered my call said she's agent of Air Canada and she helped to buy the tickets and got the payment. She sent me the ticket confirmation number and I checked the ticket, it was valid on Air Canada's website. However, when charging me with credit card, she said that there would be a service amount ( that is 1793.21cad that I lost to them until now) and it would be separate from the ticket's price. She also asked me to send the picture of my credit card and my passport to her email. I covered most of digits on my credit card before sending it to her , thinking it was one step of the procedure without doubt. On the same day, I called Air Canada to cancel the ticket and they told me that I would receive the full amount that I paid that morning. I received the ticket fare in about 2 weeks later but did not get the refund for 1793.21cad. I was out of the country and did not call Air Canada again but email the agent that I had been working with her to buy the ticket. She replied to my email that refund would take several billing cycles because it was manual one. I still thought she was working for Air Canada and believed her. However, now I doubt that this is a scammer because I emailed her and called her number many times and every times she replied and the call answerers (her male colleagues) replied to me that "the refund has been made and you will receive it on ...." . It has been more than 5 months they kept my money. I started to trace them but they said that they cannot provide me their company's information. Their website looks like scammers' and the way they replied me in emails and phones was not businesslike. I called Visa but they told me to work with my bank. My bank told me that they could not help as it's over 30 days. I don't know how to deal with this. I need some help to get back the money and to let people know about this fake Air Canada. Thanks very much for your help.
