This person posted a job posting on LinkedIn. They responded to me with the same introduction:

Thank you for getting in touch. This is a full-time position, but it can also be done on a part-time basis depending on your availability.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited; running errands, supervising and monitoring, scheduling appointments and flights, and keeping me informed about my schedule. You will also act as my point of contact when I am unavailable, handle regular contacts, and oversee my financial activities.

I am a retired real estate attorney and I have been a local and international successful entrepreneur and sometimes invest in the real estate market which requires me to travel frequently inside and outside of the state while I am working on different independent projects.I live about 15 miles away from your zip code, and I am 65 years old.

I am willing to be flexible when it comes to fitting this role into your other commitments.I will provide specific instructions for each task, and you will receive the necessary funds to complete errands.

Currently, I am in Montreal, and I will return in two weeks for a formal interview with you and to fill out any required paperwork. Due to fluctuating COVID-19 restrictions and my busy schedule, this position does not require you to come into an office at present. The hours are flexible, and the salary is consistent, although some weeks may require more of your time.I do have some things that you can help me with this week if you are available.

You will be receiving $1200/week, health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off, which we can discuss in further detail when we meet. If you are interested, please fill out the following to get started. You must reside and be eligible to work in the U.S.

I responded stating that I wanted a full-time position, as well as answered the questions in the email. They then responded with:

Congratulations, you meet my requirements for this role and you have been confirmed for the position. You will fill all necessary paperwork once I return, in the meantime I will be sending you details of errands to help me with next week, such as pricing items, settling outstanding house bills, booking flights and hotels. Please note that I will only have access to wifi in my hotel or office, so I might not be reachable all the time.

Additionally, I have some further questions to ask you:

Are you eligible to work in the United States?

Do you have any criminal records? If so, please provide details.

Are you under the age of 18, and do you have an employment/age certificate if this is the case?

I would like to know your honesty and how I can trust you with funds.

How often do you check your email?

Also, can you confirm what days/hours you are available and whether you can be available this week?

I will be emailing you once I have more details. To make sure all my emails reach your inbox, please add this email address to your contacts list. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

They had 3 checks sent to me and a payment sent to me via Venmo. The first check cleared initially, but a week or two later, it was returned and placed my account in the negative. I was asked to withdraw the funds and send them to an account via Bitcoin (I was told I was paying premiums). They apologized and proceeded to have 2 checks sent to me (one supposedly to get me out of the negative and another to complete a transaction). But, those 2 checks never cleared.

Also, the payment sent via Venmo was sent via Bitcoin. However, it was sent on the Venmo app. A couple weeks later, the person who sent the payment reversed it stating they never approved the payment. So, that put my Venmo balance in the negative. I currently have a case open with Venmo to address this. Hopefully, I can get it cleared away.
