SCAM!

I inquired on the website for a dachshund. Immediately got a text with a few questions, had a conversation about the dog. My payment method options were all unsecured (zelle, cash app etc). I told them I was hesitant about sending money over the internet, they sent me a drawn out message about how they are a Christian family and would never cheat people out of their hard earned money and sent me a picture of the dog WITH A PIECE OF PAPER WITH MY NAME AND TODAYS DATE ON IT. i immediately fell for it, told them I would send money tomorrow and signed the “contract”. A few hours go by and i had a bad feeling so I looked up the address. What a DUMP! Started doing some research and decided to text again and ask for a secured method of payment and for them to FaceTime me. They refused as “they don’t know how to FaceTime” and got irritated with me not trusting them and kept bringing up the dog picture. Then they told me they accept Apple Pay… which you can’t accept unless you have an apple product. This is when I realized it was for sure a scam. Thankfully before they got any money out of me, but my heart hurts. I didn’t even care about the money, I cared about the dog. But I am glad I can put that money towards another one. BUYER BEWARE.
