I was hired by Kalamiones Estates LLC as an Assistant Manager. My resume is located on multiple websites and they contacted me via email after finding my resume online to tell me about the available position. As someone with past assistant managerial experience, I thought I'd look into it and found their website to be realistic. I ultimately saw no red flags until week two of my employment when the individual who was assigned to me as my Personal Manager stopped all communication. I attempted to contact all emails provided on their website, as well as phone numbers, to try and convey my displeasure with the lack of communication I had been receiving. I quickly realized that I was never going to receive an answer from the emails I had sent and each time I called a phone number I was told that all representatives were busy so my only option was to leave a voicemails... which also received zero responses. This position was completely remote so I never saw other employees to assure myself that the position was real but for a scam, it was incredibly elaborate. I was given extensive instruction by my Personal Manager during training that included manuals and step by step instruction on performing tasks. Any time I had a question, it was answered and I was warned of safety measures when dealing with money from investment clients. Yet, I was never in contact with any clients, only performed one training task, and when I was ready to begin my second task all communication with my Personal Manager had stopped. They even assured me of tactics that companies may use to scam employees such as spending money up front, among others, that they made sure I knew would never be the case with Kalamiones Estates LLC. I realize this summary of my experience is a bit all over the place but my "employment" resulted in two weeks of sitting on a software they called the Back Office System, waiting for instruction for my Personal Manager, and performing what was asked of me. As I mentioned prior, early in the second week of my employment all communication halted and that is when I began to worry that I may have been scammed. So be aware if you ever receive an email from Evelin Freeman who is supposedly the HR Rep for Kalamiones Estates LLC, because once you fill out the employment agreement you will never be able to get in touch with Evelin again and anyone at Kalamiones for that matter. The only contact you have with anyone is your Personal Manager through the software system and even then you're provided with an email for your Personal Manager that is definitely not in use. The biggest red flag of all is that the email for the US Representative Office Senior Manager is provided on the website and when you attempt to email him, you receive a response that claims your email was unable to reach the recipient. The line of work is real estate investment but in reality it seems the only investment that was being performed was investment into cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin. But I'm not entirely sure what they got out of me by hiring me as an Assistant Manager other than me performing a single training task of buying $50 worth of Bitcoin using a Bitcoin ATM and essentially wasting two weeks of my time. Hopefully this helps someone if they run into Kalamiones or a similar situation in the future!
