JV screens Reports & Reviews (1)

Vendor goes by name Jesus Vega, business name is JV Screens, (says he sells and installs window screens to block sun/save energy). Found on Offer Up March 2022. Has over 900 followers, and follows over 800 people. Has over 200 4.5 stars on ratings, so my son trusted him. My son messaged him on Offer Up App, 3/20/22, all screen shots over their conversations have been saved. Mr Vega came to our home and measured our windows, then gave an estimate of $2000 for all windows and requested $1000 down payment. We agreed to pay $500 down and just get half the windows done initially. He said he would send receipt after receiving money. First he said he accepts zelle, venmo, or cash app, or paypal, and he said he would need our names, email, details about the product such as what color frame, fabric, percent of tint, etc. Then when we offered to pay by zelle he said his zelle account wasnt functioning, and that we should send it to his sisters account, under her name "Leydi" which we were unable to locate under zelle. So, he then decided we could send it thru venmo, so we did to "Jesus-Vega-167" on 3/25/22. First he said he didnt receive the money, then said he did, but that venmo w[censored]ding most of it for a week so he could only send $100 to the warehouse to have the screens made. I phoned venmo and they said no, they do not hold money and that it was documented that he had already received the full amount of $500. The whole amount of $515 (including the $15 fee) posted to my credit card account on 3/26/22. I reported this situation to the credit card company and it is under investigation. He never sent the receipt, and when we questioned him, he said thought he had sent it, and that he would resend it, but we still never received it. He said the screens would take 2-3 wks and that once finished he would come and install them. For awhile, he kept in touch with us thru the offer up app and thru the phone texts but when the time passed and it was more than 3 wks after the time of the down payment, and we tried to commit to an installation date he stopped responding to us. On Facebook there is still a JV Screens, with the phone number 602 910 8647- a different number than the one thru which he had communicated with us,(602 932 4938).The facebook page seems to have been functioning for a few years. On Offer Up he seems to have changed the name of his business to Hot Wheels AZ, my son is very astute with using Offer up and he says he can tell this is the same person/business. In my last text to him (4/21) I told him that I understand that things happen, and if he cannot provide the screens its ok, all I want is the refund. I also stated there is an elderly person in the home and the weather is getting hotter. He has never responded.
