JustAnswer tells you clearly that you’re paying $5 for the service, but fail to clearly mention they’re also charging your card a “non-refundable” monthly membership fee. It’s very fine print on the payment page. They obviously have a hard time gaining business and no one would pay a large sum of monthly payments for a useless membership, so they advertise just paying $5 then steal the first month of an involuntary membership.

It’s not worth paying close to a $100 for a one time lowsy service you can get from a real attorney as a free consultation. It’s never really just $5. It’s really, however, a rip off.

Just Answer is a scam enabled by Google. When you look for an answer to a question you get directed to their website. They masquerade as the legitimate website you are looking for. To get an "answer" they say they will only charge you $1.00. However, in the fine print you will then be billed a monthly "membership fee" of $37 until you cancel. When I fell for this scam I thought it was legitimate, and I DID NOT authorize the monthly fee. As soon as I realized what this was I cancelled, but lots of people are falling for this. I'm sure Google is involved by getting paid to prominently direct people to this scam site. BE WARNED!

I was having a problem with my internet connection with Spectrum and sought help from what I thought was their tech support. Somehow “Just Answer” got looped in and wanted approx $50 to help me. I was pretty desperate so I sent forward even though I was suspicious. Later they wanted additional money and I terminated my contact with them. Fortunately the credit card company stopped the charges.

This email came upon my conversation with another email that offer to help out. It didn't take long to figure out they have no solution for my problem. They have charged my bank account $46.00 and when I called to dispute the bank advise that was a every month charge. Had to close my debit card and order a new one.

Came on my computer as if they were part of the help from Microsoft. Said they charge $5 for the issue. However was billed $46 saying that $5 was for the week and without cancellation automatically took out $46 for monthly fee. Such a trap. If I hadn’t received a notice from PayPal I would have been paying another $46 in May and so forth.

Just answer scammed my mother. They claim I agreed to a membership of 46 $ a month. In the past few month I see they have taken several hundred dollars out of her account for an inaccurate answer that didn't work. My mom remembers the conversation quite well and no mention of additional pay past the one dollar fee. This reject company obviously has a fabricated scam system for someone who is simply trying to receive minor help to figure out a small inexperienced task. They refuse refund and obviously didn't feel they needed to explain or discuss. Also, flat out rude over the phone.

This website insists that I joined their group and a charge appeared on my credit card (Discover)

All I was trying to do was clarify my newspaper subscription with the St. Augustine FL Record. I don't know how this group got my charge card number except somehow through the newspaper's website. My payment to the Record is with my Discover Card, so they have my card number on file.

I have instructed Discover not to pay this fraudulent charge and the so-called Just Answer has contacted me to "cancel my membership" but I'm not clicking any more on this site.

Agreed to pay $5 for help with compatibility of universal remote with the Dish Hopper. Got connected with computer expert? that keep asking what operating system I was using on my desktop computer. This had nothing to do with my question & I told them that. Just kept getting “canned” responses. I realized I wasn’t communicating with a human.

I emailed that their expert did not help nor understand my question. I asked for a refund.

Not only did I never get any human response, but I found I was charged for a $45 membership I never requested.

“Just Answer” is a total fraud & slams you with membership fees without permission. It’s a scam!!

I thought I was on a legitimate website for Apple. When their expert prompt popped up I thought it was part of Apple but they asked for a $5 fee. I stupidly gave them my debit card information. Then when they sent me an answer they billed me around $50. I did not download the answer and I immediately changed by debit card number.
