Type of a scam Employment
I was to do the interview with him via Teams and Julius gave me his contact as HR Manager Jack Anderson, using Microsoft teams ID [email protected] or I had the option of connecting with Jack directly in Teams. Jack gave me the actual Hanna Capital LLC website, for me to look at while we were in the interview. We did the interview for close to an hour. In that time spam, Jack mentioned that they would be sending me a check via UPS or FedEx and I should give him my address so I can receive it. I told him that I was not comfortable with a check and was it possible to send me the equipment that I would need for the job. Jack agreed, but didn't understand why they couldn't just send me a check, so I told him that I had applied for and been tentatively employed with two other companies and they sent me a check and after taking it to my bank, the bank ran them and they were fraudulent. Jack said that he understood and that they would send me the equipment, which included an Apple MacBook Pro and a printer/scanner. I have never used an Apple computer, so I would be additional trained on it as well as the software that I would be using. Jack then informed me that my supervisor would be going over all the paperwork and arrangement for the legal documents and that my supervisor would be the guidelines in accordance with the U.S. Human Resources laws and regulations at 8:00 a.m. P.S.T. this morning the 22nd of May.
I agreed that I would be available this morning and notified Jack this morning that I was online but that I hadn't receive any additional emails concerning my employment and asked if he was going to be doing it. Jack's status is Teams was set to "Appear Offline", so I sent the original person Julius an email, guessing that it was a fake email and I turned out correct as I received this message: "Address not found Your message wasn't delivered to [email protected] because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail."
I just checked to see if Jack had responded to my message from 8:00 this morning and he has not responded yet.
