I received a message on WhatsApp from a friend asking me a favor to send Jose de Aza $620 on Zelle because she was having difficulty doing it and that she will give me the money the next day. Because the message was from someone I know, I did not think it was a scam. I went to ***** and used Zelle to send the money. I sent my friend a message confirming the transaction and she said that it was a mistake that the amount was $1,620.00. That is when I decided to call my friend thinking of telling her that maybe the reason that she couldn't send the money was that the amount was over $800. When she answered the phone, she immediately said "my Whatsapp was hacked, don't send money to no one". It was too late for me because I already sent money. I contacted *****, Zelle, Fair Lawn police, and made all reports/claims about this. Something should be done so people scammed can get back the money.
