1st person called my elderly parents pretending to be my brother calling after a bad accident. There was a bad connection...it was hard for my mom to hear but the greeting and voice was similar to my brother's. Fake "son" said they were sorry to ask as they know it's a bad time (it is), but they were in an accident and to please call the public defender in Ocean City, NJ "John Miller" and provided this phone number, 973-888-1832. My mother called the number, and the fake public defender tried to talk my mother into wiring $9000 (or a security instrument for $90,000) to get my "brother" released but fake attorney would not answer questions. When she finally refused to answer a question and said she thought it was a scam, fake public defender "John Miller" hung up.
