I was looking to buy a blue nose pitbull puppy, found this website called Pitbullsbreeder.com, found the puppy I wanted to purchase for $650.. I asked for pictures and videos of the puppy. They sent me 4 images of the puppy 1 of them being already on the site, I then asked for a video.. the video was very blurry and far away. I then asked for another video and documents of the registration before sending the money. They said they can’t send anymore pictures or videos since people “scam” and use the photos for their interest.. how ironic. The seller and I then came to an agreement to send half the money now and other half when I receive the puppy. They first sent me their Zelle information which looked very suspicious the name was Prosper Chick and as I was ready to send the money they then switched it to a different Zelle account which was also suspicious and the name turned out to be Clifford Butts. The puppy was $650, they asked for $200 more shipment so in total $850. I sent them $425 for the first half and then was going to send $425 once I received the puppy so I knew it wouldn’t be a scam. They sent me tracking information and gave me a date to receive the puppy. I then get an email and text from a different company claiming they are the ones delivering the puppy but in order to do so I needed to send $1200 for insurance on the puppy to be driven out. I emailed pitbullsbreeder and a man named John Berman then texted me and claimed he had no idea what was going on, since Covid happened they now ask for insurance on the puppy. I (the customer) should pay the insurance $1200 and have it refunded back as soon as I receive the puppy. I then told John I did not want to proceed and asked for a refund of the $425 I paid. He told me he can only refund me $225 in 30 days since shipment was $200 and the insurance company was keeping it... that being said they took the $200 from the $425 and used it for shipping which now they claim can’t be refunded. I’m not receiving my full refund and I have not heard back from them since.
