Scammer (Joe Robinson) was selling an iPad Pro used for 1 year for $700 on kijiji......and offered shipping the item if necessary. I was doing a cross country search for a good used iPad Pro to assist me in navigating my recent retirement and the fact that I am disabled and staying inside so much during this pandemic. Struck up a conversation with scammer on kijiji messenger.....and he seemed to answer all my questions and concerns about the item and kijiji profile had a selfie picture of an older guy and his wife and his answers seemed to make sense....then he stated I could pay through PayPal if that made me feel better......I agreed since PayPal would give me a better protection over just handing a stranger money through etransfer......when I made the PayPal payment they charged the scammer sone 3% in fees and he got angry at me about it......I found out later that PayPal charged him the fees because my payment was by credit card and scammer was not set up as a business account to receive cc payments.....anyway he refused the payment and as I really wanted the iPad he was supposedly selling, I felt in order to not lose the sale to (foolishly) pay with etransfer..... scammer accepted the money and said iPad would be shipped shortly and take about 10 days to arrive in Saskatchewan where I live. After non receipt of the iPad, I contacted scammer at the email he originally gave me...... the emails bounced back to me as there no longer being such an email address......it was then I knew I had been scammed out of the $700 plus $20 for shipping.
