Texted me about a job for amazon. Said he was William, a job consultant. I believe I had an resume on monster.com so this did not seem strange. Had me complete an application even though it wasn’t type of job I wanted. Said that I could pick another job when they called me. Then had me to send a screenshot of the confirmation email from Amazon. I hesitated to put my date of birth or SSN on application but I did. After I sent the screenshot of the confirmation email, they asked me to click on the link and apply on another job and I said I don’t understand why I need to do that, and they said it’s an additional application for backup option. That’s when I stopped and realized this is a scam. I have gotten 5 or 6 more texts in the last five minutes wanting to know if i did it yet. They are pushy.

I had to make up a street address and zip code on this scam report because it would not let me go further without putting something.

This makes me angry at myself as my brother was scammed recently. I hope I have not made myself vulnerable and that I caught on in time. They did not get any money as far as I know. I did not give bank account info, just date of birth and ssn. Will you please tell me what action I need to take to minimize potential for identity theft or other damage?
