Hi, I have included an attachment from the emails that I received from Personnel Manager Fortuna Grassi tel: (551) 225-0377 (919) 697-8907 Magala, S.r.l. being that the transactions via email were lengthy. However, I called several times no answer, emails only. They have threatened to sue me because I haven't followed the agreement as it pertains to the assignments. Please take a look at the attachment, as we can see there are a nice number of us who have fallen victim to this scam. Any suggestions with this matter moving forward?

My name is Fortuna Grassi and I am glad to get to know each other better.

Magala, S.r.l. is driven by a simple purpose, to create a better way for us all to live. To fulfill that purpose, we need a fantastic team.

To be successful in this role you must be reliable, detail oriented, and communicate effectively. Exceptional candidates are those who are

driven, love to work hard alongside their team, have excellent leadership skills, and are dedicated to teaching others.

For today we have two available positions: Rental Coordinator and Construction Agent. Within an hour I will send you the message with additional information and the link to the Job Description and Employment documents. Also I

will stay in touch so you ask your questions.

In case if you do not receive my messages just inform me and I will resend it at once. Talk to you soon!

I applied for an Administrative Assistant position with the Midwest Political Science Association on indeed.com, and they emailed me back asking me to contact their HR director Cynthia Miller for an interview. The email I was given was fishy, “[email protected]”. She emailed back saying the position had been filled, but that my resume would be a good fit for a Personal Assistant position for their new Senior Program Manager, Kilian Wheatley. My information was forwarded to Kilian ([email protected]), and he responded asking me to fill out an employment application. A few days later they sent me a check for $2,480 and told me to wait for further instructions. This almost makes sense, but I’m just suspicious of fraud. It’s odd that the contact info didn’t contain the business name, that my employer is not mpsa but Kilian Wheatley directly and he doesn’t have a social media profile, etc. I have not done anything with the check.

Before I continue to communicate with the employer that texted me on my phone number that is listed on IowaWorks, I wanted to make sure that it wasn't a scam.

The text contained the following - Hello (to my name), I am Mrs. Andrea Brent from Nutanix Company. Your resume was reviewed on the Iowaworks government system and your background and experience qualified you for an Administrative Assistant and Data entry position at the firm. This is an online and work from home position and pay is $30.75 per hour with benefits. Reply if interested to schedule an interview. Thank you

I replied that I was interested and right away received the message Sign in to Google Hangouts and add the interview manager ([email protected]) for a briefing and interview session, schedule or start right away with Mr. John Vettraino. The text came from the telephone number 218-321-8661 at 8:29 am Sunday 9/22/2019

Thank you for your help with this.

Is this really a scam? I just got the same text and they said they found me on the state employment site, which is possible.
