I was contacted via phone by one of the representatives from Liberty Student Loan Forgiveness. The company stated that they could consolodate my loans on my behalf and that they were a partner with the Department of Education. They asked for my social security number and asked me to sign a document which included terms and conditions, privacy statement and a forbarance request. They also charged me a $125 fee and a $25 fee. Upon calling the department of education, I was notified that this company was not a partner of the department of education. I called the company to withdraw the document that I had signed and spoke to a supervisor. The supervisor stated that "they will withdraw my application", but no other confirmation was given.
