Went online searching for Border Collie puppies. Contacted them to show interest in a particular puppy. Said they would have to cargo ship the puppy due to Covid restrictions, but would need $850 up front, which include payment for the dog and for shipping fees as well. Then they send a legitimate looking receipt once you’ve sent the money. Then they say the cargo company will contact you with information on where and when to pick up the puppy. Right before the scheduled departure time, the “cargo company” will then contact you for a “pet mortality insurance” fee bc they recently had a puppy die in their care and are being sued. Then they will contact you again due to “issues with temperatures being too high to ship the puppy safely” and will present you with the option to rent or buy air conditioned crates. During all of their they will call you repeatedly to “ensure your puppy gets on the scheduled flight” even though they barely informed you off all of this issues 15-30 prior to departure. When you try to contact the “breeders,” they will contact the “courier” to make sure their requests are real and that they had no idea because these updates were last minute or they would’ve prepared us prior to shipping. When suggesting it’s a scam, they will provide you with a name and “badge” number. They will call you no -stop to demand the money.
