Someone by the name Paul Taylor texted me about a data entry job for Jill Podell Interiors. They instructed me to download Zoom and schedule and interview with someone by the name Eric Miles. The number that texted me is +1 (516) 331-2744. The interview was done via messaging on Zoom, and I was “hired” not even 45 minutes after the interview. I was emailed from [email protected] with the employment verification form, W-4 form, and company contract supposedly. I was also overnighted a check to “buy equipment” for the position. I unfortunately mobile deposited the check before doing my own research and realizing that this was a scam, but I was able to contact my bank and get them to stop the check due to too many red flags that the “job” was a scam. The scammers then sent me another check to my email from a completely different business and bank for $980 since the other check was cancelled/stopped. I cut off all contact with those people and got my bank to stop the check from processing and entering my account. This job was a data entry position for $28 an hour and $20 an hour for a 1 week training. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. A job will either buy the equipment you need for you to have you get your own equipment. No company will sent you a check worth thousands of dollars to get equipment for a work from home job.
