I was selling an iphoone 12 on Facebook marketplace. A gentleman posting as James Hintz contacted me to purchase for $300. he was to pay me through Zelle payment app. He said i needed to send the shipping information for the payment to be deposited. I shipped the phone then got a confirmation email that his payment was deducted from his account at Aspire Credit Union who partners with Zelle (NOT TRUE), he said there was a verification process then the money would be deposited. I questioned the suite number but he played it off saying there are a lot of apartments there. i did look it up on USPS and it was valid so I didn't think it was fake, but it was fake as a home address. this address is to a parcel shipping warehouse that people use to send things to when they are given the address as someone's home address. i got notified via usps that he received the phone today. i messaged him to say i still had no payment, but of course he did not respond to me and the Facebook page is no longer there he was using. i have all the emails and Facebook communication as well as the receipt from the post office when i sent it. he assured me he has done this before and that the email stated it was to protect him from fraud. however, Zelle company said they do not have any emails you can reply to and when i noticed errors in the email i had already sent the phone.
