- Athens, IL, USA • Feb 25, 2024

Someone used the Facebook account of Jodi Meyers and pretended to be selling Taylor Swift tickets for the November 2024 Indianapolis concert.

Asked me to send money through PayPal which I did. I sent it under “Goods and Services” and marked on the transaction that I didn’t know this person, expecting some protection under PayPal. The scammer told me to send it through Friends and Family, and I wasn’t comfortable doing that, so I didn’t. The scammer took my money and didn’t give me tickets, didn’t return my money. I requested multiple times for the person to return my money through PayPal to no avail. I filed a dispute with PayPal for the return of my money and it was denied. I filed an appeal and it was also denied. I shared about 25 screenshots of my conversation with this person and PayPal did nothing to help me get my money back, despite my having sent it through Goods and Services.

I’m hoping the Better Business Bureau can help me with the issue of not being supported by PayPal as a buyer and the fact that they have not upheld the buyer protection they claim to provide.

Please do not use my name or city when publishing this. I’m from a small town and I’m really embarrassed by what happened.
