I used the application “offer up” to communicate with this individual who advertised an “Xbox series x” for $425 in Tampa, FL. I made an offer on the product though the individual stated that they no longer live in Tampa and could not meet in person. He/she offered to mail the product directly to me. I tried to offer payment through offerup which has a 2 day guarantee, though the individual stated that the app was not working for them so asked to use text message. He/she sent me the cash app name “$jalenrivera1” and venmo “jalenrivera1” and said that to make me more comfortable they would only charge half. I sent $218 to the venmo account at which point the individual stopped texting me and did not answer calls.
