I received a call at 12:14pm from 256-690-0012. They had my name and stated that they were calling from Jackson County Sheriff Department. Supposedly I had been summoned for jury duty in Jackson County and was a no show. I don't live in Jackson County. I said as much and he claimed that I could be summoned from any county within 90 miles. He said the judge had fined me since I was a no show and he wanted to sort it out over the phone. I told him I would need something in writing and wouldn't do anything over the phone. He said he wasn't authorized for that and I told him that he should have his supervisor send me something. At that point he hung up.
