I participated in a promotion through an internet company called Jack On Store (website is jackonstore.com) where a customer can order two traveling bags for free and only pay for shipping costs of $40. With every purchase, they insert into your cart prior to purchase a line for 'Seasonal Discount' with a cost of $0.00. On January 14, I ordered two of the bags and paid for the $40. My credit card was charged on January 15 for $149.99 despite the fact that I didn't purchase anything else. What I was told when I emailed the company (as they have no phone number and are entirely an internet company) is that the 'Seasonal Discount' was a one-day free trial, and after that, if you don't cancel, you are charged for the year for $149.99. This was not communicated in any way when making the purchase as far as what the 'Seasonal Discount' was that they inserted into the cart at $0.00, that it would be a free trial for one day, and that they would then charge $149.99. My request for them to remove the $149.99 was rejected as they said that since today was January 16th, the discount period for the year had been activated and therefore they would not provide my money back. There was no communication when purchasing the two bags that this was going to happen, no option to not have the 'Seasonal Discount' in my cart (it couldn't be removed), and nothing conveyed as far as a potential $149.99 charge in 24 hours.
