James OBrian came to my door and wanted to apologize for the noise they would be making at a neighbor’s in the morning. Then he began to point out that water was penetrating my bricks and they would have to be repointed and sealed. He stated that he had extra cement from a job that he had to use, and offered to do job for $4,000 (which was then reduced to $3,400). I asked for a contract but he said he had to send it to me through email. I agreed and 4 men descended upon the house. They took out some of my bricks and then a guy who called himself Peter Smith said it was late and they would have to return in the morning. They were unable to produce a business card. I don’t intend to allow them to do any more damage to my steps.
