Luca Laudani (phone# 1-901-430-9668) regarding a remote job opportunity with Italfarmco SPA as a Data Entry Representative. He then directed me to contact the Hiring Manager via the Telegram Messenger app (username @laura_italfarmaco) for the interview and next steps. I downloaded the app, reached out to the hiring manager and proceeded with the interview. I was informed I go the job and was emailed a job offer letter as well as a W4 and I9 to be completed and sent back. I was asked to complete a few tasks via email and was mailed a check via fedex that I was instructed to deposit under the pretense that I was going to make purchases for work as well as a $250 sign on bonus and compensation for gas and travel. I deposited the check and completed the purchase of Apple gift cards at the Apple store in Syracuse NY. Laura then instructed me to open them and send her copies of each gift card as well as a copy of my receipt as proof of purchase. That evening she emailed me another check that was supposed to be allocated for work materials. When I informed her that the check was on hold by my bank and that the funds weren't going to be available for several days she kept asking me to use my own funds and that I would be reimbursed. I declined stating that I didn't have the funds. When I checked the gift cards, the 2 $2000 cards had balances of $33 each. The next day when I reported to her at 8 am as instructed she ignored my messages and deleted all evidence of our correspondence in the Telegram Messenger app. The first check that was deposited into my account for $4,733.32 is now a negative balance in my account.
