My problem is with the online company website, Issuu, Inc. Issuu is an online digital discovery and publishing platform in Palo Alto, California, founded in 2004 as a Danish startup that moved its headquarters to the United States in 2013. I have been trying to "delete" my Issuu Account through my online login by following the Help Center instructions. I just recently inquired about a new password (having forgotten the old online password to the website), so that I could delete my Issuu Account. According to their instructions, I had to log in, then hover over my "Profile" photo (on the top right), then click on "Account Settings," and then the "Billing tab". And under the Billing tab I am to click on "Delete Account". An overlay screen is to appear asking me to confirm the deletion of the account. That overlay screen is supposed to ask if that is what I want; if so, then I am to click the link: "Delete My Account". Thereafter, a confirmation email should be sent to my email address. And if I didn't receive the email I am to check my email spam folder. If by chance the email did arrive, Issuu is supposed to ask "If I am sure that I want to delete my account." Then, they are to send a final confirmation. The problem is, the instructions do not work! I would get as far as logging into my Issuu account, then click on my "Profile" photo, as instructed, then select "Billing," which continues to send me to an Updated Terms of Service page, requesting that I "Accept their Terms of Service." I have avoided checking the box to accept their terms of service because I want to Delete my Account, and I'm afraid Issuu will only lock me into their new terms of service agreement, which will keep me from deleting my account. According to the US's CAN-SPAM legislation enforced by the Federal Trade Commission States, there MUST be included a clearly obvious way for subscribers to opt out of a commerical messages about closing and deletion of an account. Under Issuu Privacy Act, 13, I read that I may opt out of commercial email, but NOT the system administration communication. Out is OUT! I want to delete my Issuu Account completely, and that includes the system administration communication as well.
