The caller is Shane Richardson, calling about overdue back taxes debt. I am informed that I should call now at 201 267 1193. Offering programs that can reduce or eliminate the debt. The message also informed me to call 689 222 2847 to contact a manager to be placed on the do-not-call list. The message then cuts off mid-sentence.

I have received the following phone call verbatim multiple times a week for several week. All from different phone number/area codes. The name changes but the message is verbatim the same. I block one number and a new one calls. If the IRS is ever going to call you, you will always get a letter in the mail first. This is a scam, obviously.

“Hello This is Emily. I'm reaching out one more time from the tax resolution unit. You’re receiving this call because your file shows you’ve been selected for the IRS Fresh Start Program designed to reduce or even eliminate your tax debt. Press two now to speak with a case advisor and confirm your pre-qualification. With talk of recession, the new administration is helping families and business owners get real tax relief. You're eligible for significant savings. Press two now or call 833 704-0449. To decline this offer and stop further calls just call back or press nine.”

I have gotten several calls from different numbers and areas. The one I listed is the most recent one. I don't answer so they leave a message: Elected for the IRS fresh start program designed to reduce or even eliminate your text debt press two now to speak with a case advisor and confirm your prequalification with talk of recession and new Terrace administration is helping families and business owners get real tax relief you're eligible for significant savings press two now or call 833-704-0449 to decline.

Received call from 385-217-0522 informing about IRS Fresh Start program, message said to press two to be connected to tax advocate. The IRS never reaches out by phone scattershot, they reach out by mail first. Caller ID came up as "Illegal Scam"
