A Scammer posted an ad on facebook (making themselves look like Interwest Auto) for the item (Case, Kubota, Caterpillar), the ad then took them to a website containing our business address, and business name. It contained a false phone number which then took the victim to the scammer for a direct conversation about the item listed. This scammer on the phone was very convincing, and knowledgeable about the item, and wanted a money wire transfer in order to hold the item. The scammer promised other things, like free shipping and other conveniences. Some of the victims said they needed to see the item beforehand, of which the scammer said the business is open and would be ready for them with an "mechanic" waiting. They (the victim) then would drive to our business location (some are coming from great distances, under these false pretenses, which is super sad), come asking for the item to make a purchase inspection, upon arrival to find out it's a scam from us (the business owner) and then when the victim calls them back, the scammer does not make contact. Some victims have paid/wired the money before, and some have waited. It's a very sad situation.
