Hi, my name is Thomas Matthew Budd and I have been receiving emails from an individual claiming that I owed back taxes from last year and several years back. I warned this imposter that if he/she continued to pursue me with these emails that I would report this asinine, malicious, illegal information to the state government of Indiana. And this imposter continues to email me after I warned this individual.

- Irving, TX, USA

Caller said it was the IRS and had a warrant out for my arrest. I hung up on caller.

- Wichita Falls, TX, USA

Officer Robert Moore called from irs service claiming I commited tax fraud. He said I would be arrested if I did not call him at 786-209-3498.

- Cedar Hill, TX, USA

Callers keep calling from this number stating I have to pay a lump sum of money or I will be arrested by the IRS for taxes owed. They have also been calling my daughters phone and threatening her.

- Paris, TX, USA

I received a voicemail threatening me with an arrest warrant by the Federal Government and asked that I call back to settle the matter. When I called back there was a gentleman, with a heavy Indian accent, trying to get me to pay almost $8,000 (usd) in back federal taxes. When I questioned the authenticity of this, he transferred me to another individual who I suspected to be the same person since he had the same Indian accent. Once I asked some direct questions that a representative of the United States government should have known, they hung up.

Person called my Mother-In-Law claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Service and stating his name was Danny Harber with badge # B15501. He said she owed $7000 in taxes and to make payment. If not, she should be dressed and ready and she would be arrested at midnight. They would seize all her property, vehicles and freeze her bank accounts. He told her the case # was BC1928. The number was left in a voice mail on her cell phone.

Received at call at 10:18 Eastern Time Zone stating that i must call this number to settle 4 accusations against me from the IRS. Failure to follow up will result in losing my house.

This number will call with a recording saying they are from the irs and that a fraud case is against you. They will never say your name but when you call back, They ask for your identifying information! Do not give it to them!!! The irs will never contact you via phone, but via a letter in the mail. I called back several times just to call their bluff and let them know that I knew they were not with the IRS and was promptly disconnected each time.

- Charleston, WV, USA

I received a phone call from 832-487-7409 on February 8, 2018 at 2:52 p.m., I did not answer this unknown caller, the caller identified himself on voicemail as Officer Ryan Smith with the Internal Revenue Service advising me not to disregard this phone call or it will be considered a denial on my part.

- Salem, SC, USA

A man called, had a foreign voice. He said he was calling from the IRS in regards to back taxes from 2011 through 2016. The man did not say a specific dollar amount, just that this consumer owed back taxes for those years. When consumer said that she did not work for any of those years and did not file taxes, the man said he would check into the matter and call her back.
