I was told by a middle eastern man that if i did not pay 5000.00 immediately that they would suspend my social security number and arrest me and my children immediately. I laughed at the man said some extremely colorful things and hung up

Stated they were calling from the IRS and that I would be going to jail. Male was of Indian decent and wanted my SSN. I challenged him when he asked who he was speaking with by saying who are you trying to call. He quickly realized I was onto him and hung up on me after saying just tell him he's going to jail if he doesn't call back.

Called my cell phone claiming they are the IRS and have 4 charges against me told me to call before they did legal action against me and my local police department would take me into custody. They would call me every day and harrass me non stop.

- Dallas, TX, USA

I received a robocall from 443-201-7779 on 3/13/19 stating that they were calling from the treasury and that my social security number was associated with unpaid taxes. The robovoice stated that if I hung up, it would be considered avoiding the government and a "magistrate" would arrest me. I hung up as the IRS would not call, they would send a certified letter.

- Sherman, TX, USA

I missed a call and they left a voicemail. The voicemail is an automated voice that says that there are four serious allegations against me regarding my tax filings, and that if I do not call the number back within 24 hours to discuss the matter, I will be taken into custody by local police. I checked another website and people who answered the call said they are claiming to be IRS and asking for SSNs and personal details and hang up;/

Claimed to be the IRS and threatened to place non-responsive caller in prison for failure to contact.

- Houston, TX, USA

I keep getting a recorded phone call telling me that the IRS will be filing a lawsuit against me and that I could be arrested for income tax evasion and/or a past tax bill that I haven't paid. The recorded message asks that I call 1-181-309-1017 (California) for more inofrmation. After numerous tries reaching the busy signal I finally managed to connect with a Richard Johnson who verified my name and address and then wanted more information like my social security number before he could inform me of my felonious act. He had a thick middle eastern accent. I asked him to send me a letter regarding the charges at which time he said they were just trying to forewarn me of the impending lawsuit. I told him I would not answer any other questions except by receiving a letter. He then got huffy with me and hung up.
