I was reached out for a job opportunity via email because of CareerBuilder. The position is for an Assistant Manager in a Real Estate Investment firm. I emailed them back that I was interested in the position and we set up a phone interview. I googled the company and find that that they seemed legit. Overall, I passed the first and second interview and was hired by them. It was a work from home job opportunity due to COVID-19, where I am to be paid $26/hour with benefit. I filled out the employment agreement they sent via email. At first, I had to go through training, and during training, they advised me that because they are an international company they can only offer me a 1099 contracting position. However, they won't send me a 1099 form until I finished my training and officially I am not really working for the company. They sent me various tasks for me to do, such as opening a new bank account and sending a bank deposit slip to them via their admin portal. I sent in just how I would need to with any job. They deposit money into the account and I was tasked to withdraw the money and deposit into BitCoin ATM and send it the Wallet # provided. At first, it was a small amount and then it gradually got big. And recently they applied a PPP under someone's name and sent the money to my account. My account was closed due to this incident. And now their homepage has disappeared. I have no way to access their admin portal. I was not paid for any of the work that they tasked me to do. Because I thought it was a legit job opportunity I provided them with all my personal information through the employee portal. Now I'm getting security alerts that my information is compromised.
