Called Chimney Sweepers to have my Superior Fireplace Insert panels replaced (total of 4). The cost to have a repairman to come out was $129.00, which I agreed. Daniel, a repairman came out to measure the insert for the four panels with a total cost of $2,400.00 and asked for a $1000 down payment to have the panels ordered. Agreed to the final cost and paid $1000. The fireplace panels came in and the repairman installed three appropriately (one back and two sides) but didn't have one for the bottom of the insert. They mis-measured and didn't have enough for the bottom. The repairman then stated that he would come back and place concrete in the bottom of the insert. I questioned the concrete considering it doesn't hold up under extreme heat. The repairman stated it was a "special high heat resistant concrete and they use it all the time." I agreed only if I used my fireplace and if it cracked, they were to come back and place the original panel that was agreed upon on the repair order. Days later, the repairman came out and put concrete in the bottom of the fireplace insert. I questioned the concrete possibly cracking again. He assured me it would be fine. When he was done, he demanded the final payment. I told him I didn't want to pay in full until after I burned wood the fireplace to make sure the concrete didn't crack. He said he would come back if the concrete cracked and replace it with fireplace panel, therefore, I paid the remaining balance. I burned the fireplace a few days later to allow time for the concrete to dry. Within 30 minutes, the concrete cracked in four placed because the metal insert flexes. I tried calling the repairman a total of five days, leaving messages, with no response. I called the company for a total of 10 days straight asking for the cracked concrete to be removed and have my fourth panel placed that was originally agreed upon. They kept alluding to me that they would get back with me and/or let the repairman know. I have asked to talk to the owner of the company and they refuse to give me a name, address, phone number, and/or email address. Now, I can't even get through to talk to someone which probably means, they have blocked my number. This company needs to be taken off the website because the website doesn't even have the capability to provide review. And, one of the numbers on the website has been disconnected.
