I am worried I was told that they needed $500 to ship a puppy due to weather need to buy this large carrier. I was told to use cash app or apple. I didn't have it so it was put on hold because I tried to do a less amount came back as declined due to scam alert. How do companies get by with cheating people.

We bought a puppy on facebook from a so called breeder. He said puppy would be coming from Pennsyvania but the freight company called and told us to pay another $500 for a dog cage with air for puppy. We paid and they told us puppy will be driven that night to our home address. In about an hour they wrote that we needed to pay $1200 because of covid shot for dog and freight insurance that we would get back when they deliver puppy. They dont work with credit cards only paypal or gift cards. What a mistake we made. Didnt pay the $1200 so they tell us we will be charged for abandment of an animal. We lovd animals but we dont think there is a dog there. We asked for pictures of puppy and never got papers.
