The app "Snaplate-Snap and Translate" claims to be free. Once downloaded, it requires a subscription. The services are bad quality. It claims it can identify plants or breeds etc. When it cannot identify the most common plants or breeds or species. It claims it can tell you what your ethnicity is from your face. It claims to translate. At least for the translate part, it has even less languages as an option than google translate which is free. Being able to determine one's ethnicity from one's face is a lie or very inaccurate. Their advertising gives an illusion that it can do amazing things when the quality is bad. It draws people in by being able to identify things or translate things....it does neither. But it makes one pay for these services when it says it is free. In reviews, they claim that you have some features for free.. which is a lie, you aren't able to get out of the subscription page that comes up as soon as the app is opened. There are many bugs and it lags a lot. Overall just a ploy to get people to pay for horrible service. The reviews are 3.9. Majority of reviews seen are low ratings. They all highlight the same problem, false advertisement of it being free and then being met with a subscription requirement of 8.99 a month, that the services are mediocre, and that the app lags. The rating doesn't add up to the reviews. The only way to not pay immediately is to use a free trial of a week. Then you will be charged to use the app. There are no "free" features like it claims. There are no "free" features like the developer claims in response of negative reviews. They copy and paste their responses to negative reviews.
