After some fumbling noises on the other end of the line and the caller mumbling something unintelligible to someone else in the background, the caller finally heard me say hello the second time and started talking.
A male voice said, "Hello. You are speaking to David Mason with Publishers Westinghouse."
Before he got any further, I said, "I'm hanging up because I don't believe you and I think this is a scam."
Now I'm wishing I had heard him out to see what his scam pitch was. I could have used it for a tip in the Spokesman-Review!
