Email from [email protected] contained an attachment that appeared to be an invoice from PayPal. The charge was for “BTC” which of course I didn’t recognize. When I called the (888) 383-5128 number on the invoice document I spoke to someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from PayPal. He then instructed me to go to my computer and type in the address www.up…. and then attempted to trick me into entering a code. When I told him this isn’t right he told me I received an invoice from PayPal. I then looked at the email again and noticed it wasn’t from PayPal. When I told him this he hung up.

I received an email from [email protected] stating that they were emailing me from Paypal regarding a $651 bitcoin purchase. I did not make a bitcoin purchase. I called the number provided in the email 3612332444. Customer service agent asked for personal and financial information for a “fraud report” I did not provide any financial information. I hung up the phone. I received another call from the same person and I hung up again. I called Paypal and was informed that this was a scam, and I am now reporting to BBB.

I got an email saying: Dear Customer, thank you for choosing PayPal for a transaction of an order of $499.99 on May 1, 2021. It also was telling me that it was approved for Bitcoin purchased from an existing account, Coin-base, and it was appearing in my account statement by the next 24 hours. I called the number and talked to a Kevin Marc's, Id number 3600, and told me that he would refund my $499.99 but that he had me go into my bank account and deposit it. With that I guess he added an extra $5000 to my account.  However I was watching my account the whole time and there was actually $5,256 in my account, so then he explained about how he would correct it but I had to go and buy so many gift cards in order to get it back to what I was suppose to get. Now I'm $1400 in the hole on my bank account and now my bank is helping me fight for what is right and to get my account back. They need to stop pretending to be Paypal and stop calling people and doing this to people.
