My husband received a call today from someone claiming to be from AT&T, saying that we were about to lose our satellite signal. He wanted $200 to update the software. While he was on this call, I called AT&T. I was told this is a scam, that they would never contact us by telephone. The AT&T representative had just received a call from a woman who HAD given a similar caller her bank information. The AT&T rep told me they cannot assist in the collection of this money, and advised the woman to contact her bank.

This caller sounded just like the caller we had a few days earlier, trying to get $499 from us. The caller is definitely calling from a call-center setting, and is of Indian descent (India, not Native American).
