I was emailed by Michael Kopson, consultant for Lyra Health telling me to create a Skype account and speak with Young Destiny Monique. I did and texted with her (if she's really a her). Got the same details as others with sending check to buy equipment, etc, would be paid 15$ per hour for a week of training and then 31$ after that. Got acceptance letter not signed, but from the CEO, David Ebersman. Have not printed or signed the letter. Also wanted a copy of my driver's license, front and back. I looked up the company and it is a legit company. My supervisor was to be Scott Guthrie. Did all that. Sent name, address, phone, email. Asked about what bank I use to make sure it "tallies" with their payment account. That was the big red flag for me. Bank shouldn't matter. Also red flag was that this all went on Saturday and Sunday which I'm sure they don't work on weekends. Also was told it would be 24 hours for approval but I got the letter within 12. I'm going to contact my bank and warn them of any suspicious activity. It's going to be a PITA but better safe than sorry. Been scammed before. It's sad.

I was originally contacted by John Clever via text saying he received my resume and told me I would be paid for a remote position of 27 an hr. I would have an interview via Skype. I’ve attached screenshots. The interview was through text with a Kerry Chandler. At the end she asked me to purchase software and equipment… big red flag!

I was looking for remote jobs and this was one of many I applied to. The “company” reached out to me through text and stated they use Skype to keep track of messages and share them with the hiring manager and HR. They apologized if the approach was different but stated this was their way of keeping up with the times. This was weird to me since companies usually call and email. I had never been asked to use an app to communicate for a potential job. I researched the company and it seemed legit so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They said I was hired after asking a lot of questions you would typically have during an interview and sent me a hire letter. In the “hire process” I sent some personal information requested to confirm employment. They stated they would send me a start up check to get my mini office together, send me a MacBook Pro, and the check would also be to purchase software from their verified vendor only. Sounds too good to be true now. They then asked me to use a selfie verification process by clicking a link sent by text. The link was to ID.me and it stated my identity was being used to log in to California EDD. It was an email address I didn’t create and was told by the “employer” that it was an alternate email address for work purposes. The ID.me website clearly states that you should only use your email address and lists that you should never be asked to use it for employment purposes among other things. They had also tried to send me PDF copies of checks to cash though my bank instead of sending a real physical check. Luckily they didn’t go through.

I was contacted on or about the 1st of June by Ryan Kelly. He said he has been the HR Manager for Lyra Health the last 10 years. He said he saw my resume and was contacting me for a remote office position with the company. He asked me to logon Skype and he presented a video of the company. Ryan advised me that I would have 2 weeks training and that he would put me in contact with the other team members in my area. He told me that the hourly pay rate was $30 and that during training the pay rate would be $25 per hour.

Next after speaking with me, I told him I was interested and have been job searching for a while now.

He sent me a I-9 Form to sign, date and attach a picture of my drivers license. He sent a letter of offer and a benefit package. So, then what made me question everything, was he kept asking about my checking account and if I could access my account thru a mobile phone. I told him yes I could, but what does that have to do with getting a position with the company. He then said that the company would pay me to setup a mini office in my home and that a check would be sent to me to purchase all of the office equipment needed to do the job.

I asked him why would the company send me a check to purchase equipment? Why couldn't a reputable company purchase their own equipment. He insisted that I accept a soft check from the company. I asked what is a soft check and I got no response.

Ryan sent long messages trying to persuade me to accept a check and that I would be responsible for paying for all the equipment.

So, I went back over all the messages that he sent and the first lie I caught was, he told me he had been the HR Mgr for 10 years, but I read up again on the company and it wasn't established until 2015.

I check the email address that he used, which was LyraHealth.hrdesk. On the company website it stated the only email address used for hiring is LyraHealth.com...Also, the company stated that they never ask for money from anyone. If hired, you won't have to pay for anything.

I addressed all these issues with Ryan and got no response. I'm just happy I wasn't drugged into this scam even further. I'm so worried about all my personal information that I shared.
