I received an email saying that an HR manager from Bolt Creative named Allan Martinez found my page on ArtStation.com and offered me a job as a 2D/3D Environment Artist. I was told to reach out to another HR Manager named Daniel Walker through a text messaging app called ICQ. I downloaded the app and started talking to Daniel, who conducted a text-based interview with me. He asked for my full name and city, which I gave him because that information is already publicly available.

After answering some questions about my work experience and problem-solving abilities, he explained that the position is remote and that I would need to purchase a Macbook preloaded with the 3D programs Autodesk Maya, Mudbox, Zbrush, and Houdini installed on it along with a time tracker so they could track what hours I was working. He was going to send me a check with an advance of my first paycheck, and I was supposed to deposit the check and use it to buy the items in question through a special vendor they had a connection with.

I asked him to give me a day to think about it, and he agreed. The next day, I checked the ICQ app again, and Daniel Walker's name on his account had been changed to "This is Fake." I did not send any more messages and deleted the app.
