Type of a scam Credit Cards
Man said my wife owed $10k to Bank of America and $700+ in fees. He said Bank of America was suing her - not in collections, but suing. We monitor my wife's credit report closely and there are no remarks on her report about Bank of America, and she has never had an account for $10k with them. The man did not know her name completely but some mixed up jumble of prior marriage, maiden name and current name. We suspected a scam, told them to mail their documents to the address they had on file and hung up. I called back from another number and simply asked the name and address of the business. They refused. I insisted I was only trying to verify their legitimacy as a business but they still refused. They had my wife in tears and should be ashamed. Stop these people before someone gets hurt.
